As un-sarcastically as I can possibly ask this, what quality is it that makes a souped-up taxicab and a tarted-up Honda Accord classy, but classically understated Jaguar sedan or a beautifully proportioned GT car from Aston Martin complexity un-classy?

Actually I’m only half-joking. When this came out, is was regarded as having more classy and lean styling than stuff like the Mercedes S-Class from the same era.

For the Vantage, just seeing these everyday bores me to hell. Even though I see more S60 than Vantages, the S60 still draws my eye. Maybe years ago yes, but now all Astons are just ultra meh.

Huge fan of the XJ8-XJR, but the XK coupe to me has much more of that subtle yet powerful look than the XJ. Nothing like it on the road at the time and now. Best curves ever! Oh those epic curves. 80's XJ and below are ultra classy to me. The gen posted doesn’t give the the same emotion. Still, i’d 100% buy a clean XJR if I could though

I’ve always digged Acuras and the TL that gen was just so perfect. What gives it more value and class is that the following gen looked sooo bad. Yuck, that beak! The previous is still the pinnacle of Acura’s design for me especially the Type-S and especially in motion. Like an 01-03 e39, but better

That’s sad because I was always a huge fan. I’m not really a “performance” driver, more of a GT man, so I dreamed of making it big and buying an Aston.

Also, I love the B-body and the XK on this list.

Aside from that oddball one I can’t identify in the middle, I’d happily drive any of the cars on the current list.

Basically what I’m gathering is this not a “find classy cars from after 1995" challenge so much as it is “try to read EL_ULY’s mind” challenge. Just because the XKR is classier doesn’t make the XJR not classy, and just because that TL isn’t as bad as the one that follows it doesn’t make it classy either. I get that it’s all in good fun, but good grief.
